Etobicoke
Waterfront Stormwater Management Facilities Study, Municipal Class
Environmental Assessment
The City of
Toronto is currently conducting a study to assess the
consolidation of 30 stormwater outfalls along the Etobicoke Waterfront
that
discharge directly into Lake Ontario. At their first Public Information
Centre
on November 12, 2009 they discussed potential sites for stormwater
management
facilities and Mimico Memorial Park was identified as a potential site
for the
placement of an underground storage tank. The MRA expressed their
concerns on
why this should not be the preferred location and in 2010 Mimico
Memorial Park
was removed from consideration.
